,Ntv ov H1 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAIISTATE OF t° cl <br /> +°64 Na MDF e'r\1 <br /> r°•°• <br /> 1r�os°i+�'ji <br /> SOLUTION NO. 260 21 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND <br /> LGBTQ PRIDE FOR EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES FOR <br /> CLASSROOMS AND PUBLIC EVENTS. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) <br /> Pride, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for our <br /> diverse community to gather together; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride encourages communities to uplift and <br /> celebrate expressions of love and identify through coordinating an annual LGBTQ Pride Parade <br /> and by working with other community organizations to produce year-round events; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride is requesting funds to continue distribution <br /> of educational materials, age-appropriate classroom resources for teachers, and supplies for <br /> children's activities at public events; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public <br /> and youth programs that promote educational activities in an alcohol-free and drug-free <br /> environments; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride for expenses related to <br /> educational material and supplies for classrooms and public events. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br /> 14 <br />
