i <br /> I <br /> I <br /> ®S�zvfoF��w <br /> �•�y \,,Gtr„ <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAIII <br /> STATE OF HAWAFT <br /> ''AE•ryF•Np� <br /> SOLUTION <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE PAA <br /> SCHOOLS SUPPORT FOUNDATION TO ASSIST WITH FUNDING COMMUNITY <br /> ENGAGEMENT EVENTS FOR PAHOA PUBLIC SCHOOLS. <br /> WHEREAS,the Pahoa Schools Support Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to supplement and fund activities to promote educational <br /> opportunities at Pahoa high and Intermediate School, Pahoa Elementary School, and Keonepoko <br /> Elementary School; and <br /> WHEREAS, Pahoa public schools have limited funding yet still provide opportunities to <br /> create enhanced learning experiences outside of the standard curriculum; and <br /> WHEREAS, Pahoa Schools Support Foundation is working in partnership with Pahoa <br /> public schools to host several community engagement events throughout the school year such as <br /> the Halloween"Trunk or Treat" event, a Thanksgiving event, an annual Health and Wellness <br /> Fair, and May Day activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pahoa Schools Support Foundation is requesting funds to assist with <br /> expenses associated with hosting community engagement events for Pahoa public schools; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports alcohol-free and drug-free <br /> community events and programs that improve the well-being of our youth; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Pahoa Schools Support Foundation to assist with funding <br /> community engagement events for Pahoa public schools. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
