i COUNTY OF G +;1 :+ STATE OF G SOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRINGIAPPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND LGBTQ PRIDE TO SUPPORT ITS 10TH ANNUAL PRIDE PARADE AND FESTIVAL. I WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for youth and the community to gather together and celebrate love, diversity, and equality; and j WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride's 10th Annual Pride Parade and Festival brings members of the LGBTQ community together to affirm their fundamental rights and place in Hawaii County; and WHEREAS, the 10th Annual Pride Parade and Festival will be held on June 25, 2022, along Hilo bayfront and at the Mo`oheau Park bandstand; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride is requesting funds to cover expenses for parade safety (police presence), banners, trophies, and porta-potty rentals for its 10th Annual Pride Parade and Festival; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that promote family-friendly events and activities in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride to support its 10th Annual Pride Parade and Festival. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
