Solid Waste: There are no municipal waste collection services in the County. All solid <br /> waste generated by the development will be disposed of at the County's Pu`uanahulu <br /> landfill, approximately 18 miles north of the site. The applicant prepared a Solid Waste <br /> Management Plan as required by Condition No. 13 of LUC Docket No. A00-073. The <br /> plan was subsequently accepted by the Department of Environmental Management— <br /> Solid Waste Division on August 21, 2006. <br /> 20. Essential Utilities and Services: Electricity and telephone services are available to the <br /> site. The Kealakehe Police Station is located about 1.5 miles south of the project site, and <br /> fire protection is provided by the Kailua-Kona Fire Station located approximately three <br /> miles south of the property.
