§ 25-5-90 HAWAI`I COUNTY CODE <br /> Division 9.V,Resort-Hotel Districts. <br /> Section 25-5-90. Purpose and applicability. <br /> The V(resort-hotel)district applies to areas to accommodate the needs and desires of visitors,tourists <br /> and transient guests. It applies to specific areas where public roads and public utilities are available or <br /> where suitable alternate private facilities are assured. It may apply to a single isolated hotel or resort with <br /> or without a commercial mall or shopping section. <br /> (1996, Ord.No. 96-160, sec. 2;ratified April 6, 1999.) <br /> Section 25-5-91. Designation and density of V districts. <br /> (a) Each V(resort-hotel)district shall be designated on the zoning map by the symbol"V"followed by <br /> a number which indicates the required land area, in thousands of square feet, for each dwelling unit <br /> or for each separate rentable unit in the case of hotels,resorts, inns, lodges,motels,motor hotels, <br /> motor lodges, or other similar rentable units. <br /> (b) In case any of the permitted uses have dormitories,two beds shall be equivalent to one separate <br /> rentable unit for purposes related to the required land area in the V district. <br /> (c) Maximum density designation in the V district shall be.75 or seven hundred fifty square feet of <br /> land area for each dwelling unit or separate rentable unit. <br /> (d) In the V district,no limitation shall be placed on the increments used between the various density <br /> designations;however,the recommended incremental density designations are: .75, 1, 1.25, 1.5 and <br /> upward in 0.25 increments. <br /> (1996, Ord.No. 96-160, sec. 2;ratified April 6, 1999.) <br /> Section 25-5-92. Permitted uses. <br /> (a) The following uses shall be permitted in the V district: <br /> (1) Adult day care homes. <br /> (2) Amusement and recreational facilities, indoor. <br /> (3) Art galleries,museums. <br /> (4) Automobile service stations. <br /> (5) Bars, night clubs and cabarets <br /> (6) Bed and breakfast establishments, as permitted under section 25-4-7. <br /> (7) Business services. <br /> (8) Cemeteries andmausoleums, as permitted under chapter 6, article 1 of this Code. <br /> (9) Churches, temples, and synagogues. <br /> (10) Commercial parking lots and garages. <br /> (11) Community buildings, as permitted under section 25-4-11. <br /> (12) Day care centers. <br /> (13) Dwellings, double-family or duplex. <br /> (14) Dwellings,multiple-family. <br /> (15) Dwellings, single-family. <br /> (16) Family child care homes. <br /> (17) Financial institutions. <br /> (18) Group living facilities. <br /> (19) Home occupations, as permitted under section 25-4-13. <br /> (20) Hotels. <br /> (21) Lodges. <br /> (22) Medical clinics. <br /> (23) Meeting facilities. <br /> ` <br /> Planning <br />
