(See Figure 10 of the application) <br /> ■ Retention of nine (9) holes of the King's Course with the land area encompassing the <br /> other holes to be repurposed for the timeshare and related uses, relocated new golf <br /> club, and driving range, and support uses. <br /> ■ Approximately 126 acres of landscaped open areas, including natural and <br /> renaturalized lava landscapes. <br /> ■ Approximately three (3) acres of new pedestrian paths and two (2) community parks <br /> with recreational amenities (within the open space areas noted above). (See Figure 11 <br /> of the application) <br /> ■ A new landscape irrigation system utilizing brackish water from the underlying <br /> aquifer to service the landscaping needs of the project which will reduce the reliance <br /> on potable water for irrigation. <br /> 2. Applicant's Request: The applicant is requesting the following entitlements to facilitate <br /> the development of the proposed Kumu Hou project: <br /> Special Management Area (SMA) Use Permits <br /> ■ PL-SMA-2021-000002: SMA Use Permit to allow the development of 264 multiple- <br /> family residential timeshare units and related improvements within sub areas J1 and <br /> J2 of"Area A"totaling approximately 38.6 acres of land within the SMA. <br /> ■ PL-SMA-2021-000003: SMA Use Permit to allow the development of 25 single- <br /> family residential lots and related improvements within sub area L2 of"Area A" <br /> totaling approximately 7.3 acres of land within the SMA. <br /> ■ PL-SMA-2021-000004: SMA Use Permit to allow the development of 900 multiple- <br /> family residential timeshare units, community support facilities (including a <br /> community center, convenience retail center, maintenance operations center, <br /> additional employee and other parking), golf support facilities (including relocation <br /> of the golf clubhouse and driving range, and a new cart path), public parks and paths <br /> (including two gateway parks, pedestrian trails, sidewalk facilities and open space) <br /> and related improvements and to allow a new brackish water irrigation source and <br /> distribution system to support the landscape irrigation needs of the project within 3.1 <br /> acres of land identified as "Area C" of the proposed Kumu Hou project.
