po+�Y®F 114 <br /> COUNTYG `' `' STATE Z <br /> •+i°�'may,:�'«`` <br /> qTE GF•NT.de <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 312 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KEALAKEHE <br /> PROJECT GRAD FOR THE 2022 GRADUATES OF KEALAKEHE HIGH SCHOOL <br /> AND WEST HAWAII EXPLORATIONS ACADEMY. <br /> WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides <br /> healthy and fun activities in a safe environment for the graduating students of Kealakehe High <br /> School and West Hawaii Explorations Academy; and <br /> WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad is hosting its graduation-night celebration for the <br /> 2022 graduates of Kealakehe High School and West Hawaii Explorations Academy in May <br /> 2022; and <br /> WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad is requesting funds to help pay for meals, various <br /> entertainment, games, snacks, activities, transportation, and other expenses associated with the <br /> graduation-night celebration; and <br /> WHEREAS, should the graduation-night celebration be cancelled due to the COVID-19 <br /> pandemic, Kealakehe Project Grad requests that these funds be used to provide gifts and <br /> memorabilia to acknowledge and congratulate the 2022 graduates of Kealakehe High School and <br /> West Hawaii Explorations Academy; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br /> improve the lives of young people through supervised alcohol-, tobacco-, and drug-free activities <br /> intended to promote growth and learning in a safe environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Kealakehe Project Grad for the 2022 graduates of Kealakehe <br /> High School and West Hawaii Explorations Academy. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
