3MiV 0F.1.4 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 325 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF HAWAII YMCA TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE OPERATION OF KALAMAPPI PLAY SCHOOL WHEREAS, the Island of Hawaii YMCA(YMCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports local communities by implementing programs and activities in areas of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility; and WHEREAS, the YMCA is working in partnership with the Kalamapi'i PLAY School to assist with expenses related to the opening and operation of this preschool whose mission is to provide education, life-skills, and support in a healthy and safe environment, for preschoolers with a history of trauma or who have had difficulty in the traditional preschool setting; and WHEREAS, the YMCA is requesting funds to assist with the purchase of materials and supplies, including, but not limited to furniture, play equipment, and a diaper changing table; as well as funds to assist with the payment of one month's rent for the preschool; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports community based programs that promote education, health, safety and well-being in drug-free, and alcohol-free venues; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Island of Hawaii YMCA to assist with expenses related to the opening and operation of the Kalamapi'i PLAY School. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
