OF k,�Y COUNTYti t *° STATE OF HAWAIII ,TE OF°NF's RESOLUTION NO. 339 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF HAWAII YMCA TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE OPERATION OF KALAMAPII PLAY SCHOOL. WHEREAS,the Island of Hawaii YMCA (YMCA) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that supports local communities by implementing programs and activities in areas of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility; and WHEREAS, the YMCA is working in partnership with Kalamapi`i PLAY School to assist with expenses related to the opening and operation of this preschool whose mission is to provide education, life-skills, and support in a healthy and safe environment, for preschoolers with a history of trauma or who have had difficulty in the traditional preschool setting; and WHEREAS, the YMCA is requesting funds to purchase materials and supplies, including, but not limited to refrigerators and picnic tables for the preschool; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that bring awareness and education to our youth and community to live a healthy, alcohol-free, and drug- free lifestyle; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Island of Hawaii YMCA to assist with expenses related to the opening and operation of the Kalamapi`i PLAY School. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
