UCOUNTY OF HAWAI'l STATE OF HAWAI'l OF•Nhg+t' RESOLUTION NO. 3M; 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TOP OVI A GRANT TO KONA HONGWANJI MISSION TO PURCHASE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES FOR ITS KONA HONGWANJI CUB SCOUTS PACK 12. WHEREAS, the Kona Hongwanji Mission(dba Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple) is an affiliate organization of the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii, a 5 0 1(c)(3) nonprofit organization, whose mission is to provide spiritual guidance and support and propagate programs and activities that appeal to people of all ages and ethnicities; and WHEREAS, the Kona Hongwanji Cub Scouts Pack 12, an affiliate of the Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, teaches youth that they are each important individuals, and provides activities that encourage personal responsibility, promote self-esteem, and instill values that will lead to good decision making and healthy lifestyles; and WHEREAS, the Kona Hongwanji Mission is requesting funds to purchase personal protective equipment and supplies for the Kona Hongwanji Cub Scouts Pack 12; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public and youth programs that promote educational activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environment, such as the Kona Hongwanji Cub Scouts Pack 12; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Kona Hongwanji Mission to purchase personal protective equipment and supplies for its Kona Hongwanji Cub Scouts Pack 12. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
