i <br /> i <br /> i <br /> JNgYfUF k,�Y <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAFI <br /> I <br /> 'j}'i�MTM?• *`� <br /> 4tf 4F N•� <br /> i <br /> RESOLUTION loll,/. 364 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO HIGH <br /> SCHOOL FOUNDATION FOR THE 2022 HILO HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT GRAD <br /> NIGHT. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo High School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> assists Hilo High School and its students with programs and activities, including the Hilo High <br /> School Project Grad Night; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo High School Project Grad Night provides a safe, secure, and <br /> supervised celebration alternative to the traditional graduation parties that involve underage <br /> drinking, illegal substance use, and unsupervised late-night partying that normally results in <br /> drinking and driving, all of which pose a hazard to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hilo High School Project Grad Night is an alcohol- and drug-free event that <br /> provides the parents and families of the graduates with the peace of mind that their child is in a <br /> safe and wholesome environment after graduation; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Hilo High School Foundation is requesting funds to assist Hilo High <br /> School to defray the cost of facility rental, transportation, and food; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support youth <br /> programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free events, including Project Grad Night activities; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hilo High School Foundation for the 2022 Hilo High <br /> School Project Grad Night. <br /> I <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br /> a <br /> i <br /> 1 <br />
