COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAI'l RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO CHILD & FAMILY SERVICE TO PAY FOR TREE TRIMMING EXPENSES AT THE WEST HAWAII DOMESTIC ABUSE SHELTER. WHEREAS, Child& Family Service, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, operates the West Hawaii Domestic Abuse Shelter,provides social and human services and advocacy for children and families in need; and WHEREAS, Child and Family service operates the West Hawaii Domestic Abuse Shelter, which provides a safe haven for victims of domestic violence; and WHEREAS, Child& Family Service is requesting funds to pay for tree trimming expenses at the West Hawaii Domestic Abuse Shelter to address potential hazards that could impact its residents, staff, and those who visit; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to improve the criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and the community; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Child& Family Service to pay for tree trimming expenses at the West Hawaii Domestic Abuse Shelter. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
