�Ncv of N COUNTY OF Ic +: :kSTATE OF t ,r,�cfN►.+� RESOLUTION NO. 374 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NORTH KOHALA COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER FOR THE 2022 KOHALA HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT GRAD NIGHT. WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase the number of successful community projects that benefit North Kohala; and WHEREAS, the Kohala.High School Project Grad Night provides a safe, secure, and supervised celebration alternative to the traditional graduation parties that involve underage drinking, illegal substance use, and unsupervised late-night partying that normally results in drinking and driving, all of which pose a hazard to the community; and WHEREAS,this alcohol- and drug-free event provides the parents and families of the graduates with the peace of mind that their child is in a safe and wholesome environment after graduation; and WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center is requesting funds to defray the costs for food, transportation, and other expenses relating to the 2022 Kohala High School Project Grad Night; and WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support youth programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free events, including Project Grad Night activities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center for the 2022 Kohala High School Project Grad Night. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
