®F <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAF1 STATE OF HAWAFI <br /> 'ATE OF•tip� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 375 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE CIVIL DEFENSE AGENCY TO EXPAND <br /> EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 9. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency directs and coordinates the <br /> development and administration of the County's total emergency preparedness and response <br /> program to ensure prompt and effective action when a natural or man-caused disaster threatens <br /> or occurs anywhere in the County; and <br /> WHEREAS, there are four Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) in Council <br /> District 9 that are prepared to assess damage after a disaster, provide first aid where needed, and <br /> collaborate with other government and non-government agencies involved in emergency <br /> preparedness to provide reliable information to the public when a disaster threatens or strikes; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, installing additional telecommunications equipment is critical for the Civil <br /> Defense Agency to communicate to CERT volunteers in Council District 9 for prevention, <br /> protection, response, and recovery efforts; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency has already received Contingency Relief funds <br /> via Resolution No. 606-18 for the purchase of two repeaters/duplexers, supporting program <br /> software and cables, antennas,power supplies, radio microwave links, coax cables, and other <br /> related installation equipment to expand its emergency communications in Council District 9; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency is requesting additional funds for expenses <br /> associated with installing one repeater/duplexer device and related equipment, with the second <br /> device to be installed at a later time, subject to funding; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Civil Defense <br /> Agency to expand emergency communications in Council District 9. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
