No. 712 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:44 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 712, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Communication No. 712, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth dated March 28, 2022, <br /> nominates Leina`ala Enos to the Ka`u Community Development Plan Action Committee <br /> (CDPAC). <br /> Ms. Pomaika`i Bartolome, Executive Assistant to Mayor Roth, was present via Zoom to <br /> introduce Ms. Enos. She shared that Ms. Enos is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and attended <br /> Kamehameha Schools and the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She served as Chair for the Ka`u <br /> CDP Steering Committee and is a past member of the Liquor Commission. Ms. Enos retired <br /> from Queen Lili`uokalani Trust as the Community Building Facilitator. She brings a background <br /> of extensive community service and volunteerism. If confirmed, she will serve a term ending <br /> December 31, 2024. <br /> Ms. Enos was present for Your Committee via Zoom. She explained that she would like to see <br /> her community well-represented on the Ka`u CDPAC, and that she would bring a fair and <br /> unbiased approach. <br /> Committee Member Maile David voiced her support for Ms. Enos's nomination and thanked her <br /> for continuing her service for Ka`u. <br /> Committee Chair Ashley Kierkiewicz praised Ms. Enos for her willingness to step up and serve <br /> the community and voiced her support for her experience in mediation and facilitation. <br /> The vote was then taken on the motion to move this measure to Council with a favorable <br /> recommendation and passed with nine "ayes." <br /> PC Report No.: 56 <br />
