"Tim"Richards, III, Council Member <br /> Council District 9 -North and South Kohala <br /> SUBJECT: Request Ad Hoc Committee for Proposed Tax Related Legislation <br /> I humbly request an appointment of an `ad hoc committee' of the Hawaii County Council for <br /> the purpose of evaluating currently proposed tax related legislation that may include, but is not <br /> limited to valuation increase caps, affordable housing funding, and tax credits, all of which are in <br /> relation to the overall budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023. Such an ad hoc committee would be <br /> beneficial for working in a cohesive and manageable process, while following the Sunshine <br /> Law, and optimally providing for a fiscally responsible approach. <br /> With time being of the essence, I also humbly request a breach of the April 14, 2022 deadline in <br /> order to have the matter heard on the next agenda for the Finance Committee.
