COUNTY OF HA` AIII b STATE OF FIA AI`I <br /> trF9Qf b�$f <br /> RESOLUTION . 396 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SA E TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TOT E ALOHA CLUB OF <br /> ILO TO PURCHASE FOOD AND SUPPLIES FOR THE MEAL PROGRAM AT HALE <br /> LUEA CLUBHOUSE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hale `Oluea Clubhouse ("Clubhouse") is a branch of Clubhouse <br /> International, which has over 320 clubhouses in 34 countries; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Clubhouse is a voluntary,psychosocial rehabilitation program for adults <br /> with mental health disabilities in East Hawaii that utilizes a unique rehabilitation format where <br /> participants are "members"rather than clients, working with staff to foster participation through <br /> self-determination; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Aloha Club of Hilo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose <br /> is to raise funds for the Clubhouse and its many vocational and educational programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Clubhouse's meal program provides healthy meals and snacks to its <br /> members that are receiving life-skills training and education; and <br /> WHEREAS, due to the prolonged duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Aloha Club <br /> of Hilo was unable to sponsor any fundraising events or activities to raise monies for the <br /> Clubhouse's programs, and is requesting financial assistance to purchase food and supplies for <br /> the meal program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br /> promote growth and learning in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Aloha Club of Hilo to purchase food and supplies for the <br /> meal program at Hale `Oluea Clubhouse. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
