HAWAIICOUNTY OF +< STATE OF HAWAII <br /> t•C-�4Y":.\ <br /> 4p.Of•WP°+� <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOSPICE OF HILO <br /> FOR ITS I8th ANNUAL CLE TION OF LIFE. <br /> WHEREAS, Hospice of Hilo (doing business as Hawaii Care Choices)is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization that provides medical, social, and spiritual services for terminally ill <br /> patients at end of life as well as providing support to their families and caregivers; and <br /> WHEREAS, for the past 18 years, Hawaii Care Choices has held its annual Celebration <br /> of Life event to raise awareness and provide education regarding end of life choices, with this <br /> year's event to be held on May 28, 2022, at Reeds Bay Beach Park; and <br /> WHEREAS,the 2022 Celebration of Life, is an event to remember loved ones who have <br /> passed—honoring the life they have lived and the lives they have touched, as well as celebrating <br /> the diverse and rich cultural foundation of our island; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Care Choices is requesting funds to help defray the costs of this <br /> event, including, but not limited to renting sound and staging equipment, and trash disposal <br /> equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide <br /> events and activities that celebrate and commemorate our culture, heritage and diverse <br /> communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hawaii Care Choices for its 18th Annual Celebration <br /> of Life event. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
