i <br /> i <br /> i <br /> JMtY OF 114 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •_ STATE OF HAWAIJ <br /> •OF•N.Y+ j <br /> I <br /> 'I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 405 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAMAKUA YOUTH <br /> FOUNDATION, INC., TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS KEIKI <br /> PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Hdmdkua Youth Foundation, Inc., (HYF) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to provide Hdmdkua youth support and guidance that is essential <br /> to positive growth by opening doorways to the world and sharing life skills rooted in the <br /> Hawaiian values of kuleana, aloha, laulima(working together), and mahalo; and <br /> WHEREAS, HYF operates a Keiki Program offering holistic support to youth and <br /> families through academic and enrichment programs serving over 30 youths ages 12 and under; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the Keiki Program provides homework assistance, skills development in <br /> reading and math, hands-on activities in the Keiki Garden, and place-based, multicultural <br /> learning opportunities; and <br /> WHEREAS, HYF is requesting funds to purchase supplies and materials for its Keiki <br /> Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports community-based programs that <br /> promote education, health, safety, and the well-being of Hawaii Island's youth in drug-free and <br /> alcohol-free venues; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hdmdkua Youth Foundation, Inc., to assist with <br /> expenses related to its Keiki Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
