KAM: Planning Commissioner, aloha.
VITOUSEK: One second, I'll need to swear you in still sorry about that.
KAM: Oh, okay.
VITOUSEK: Okay, no problem. Please raise your right hand. Thank you, do you swear or
affirm or tell the truth on the matter before the Leeward Planning Commission?
KAM: Yes, I do.
VITOUSEK: Mahalo. Please state your name and the town you live in and then give us your
testimony.
KAM: Okay. I'm a Kaloko resident, Darin Kam been there for seventeen(17) years in Kaloko.
I'm here to give some opinions on the proposed seven(7) lot subdivision below me. I got a
couple letters from Sidney Fuke, I see his online here. So, good morning, Sidney, and Clinton.
Okay, so a little history of my knowledge of Kaloko. I've subdivided two (2) twenty(20) acre
parcels. One six (6) three(3) acre lot and a 2 ten(10) acre lot subdivision all mauka side of the
proposed subdivisions, and I have no problem with the subdivision. I'm in favor of it for Mr.
Clinton Hinchcliff and my testimony for the residents and the safety of the community is to have
a traffic light installed on the highway. And I understand the County have the funds, but it is a
state highway. So just my concern is with another subdivision we're going to have another
fifteen (15) to 20 cars, everybody builds `ohana`s so you got possibly 20 or thirty (30) cars
coming down, up and down the road.
CJ, we see how many cars and accidents down in there and God forbid there's a fatality and
there's some liability, I believe, to the State and County if such accident should happen. So, that
is really my testimony. I'm in favor of this subdivision as long as we can get perhaps a traffic
light upon our Council to have one installed in the future. That's it, thank you.
VITOUSEK: Thank you very much appreciate your testimony. Are there any other, it doesn't
look like there are any other testifiers for agenda Item 1, is that correct?
KAM: I don't think there's any more for this subdivision, okay, thank you. Aloha.
VITOUSEK: Actually, one thing Commissioners is there any questions of the testifier?
KAM: Oh, okay, I'm back.
VITOUSEK: No, okay. Mahalo. Thank you so much—
KAM: Thank you, aloha.
VITOUSEK: —Appreciate it. Thank you.
2
EXHIBIT A (DRAFT)
