y I <br /> OF Of <br /> COUNTY OF `I *` .� F <br /> os.µ"�`' <br /> I <br /> 6; <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 436 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL <br /> YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF REAL <br /> PROPERTY FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> MANAGEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other <br /> obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one <br /> fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management desires to lease approximately <br /> 3,163 square feet of office space situated at Hanama Place, in Kailua-Kona, County and State of <br /> Hawaii, from Puna Plantation Hawaii, Limited("Landlord"); and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management desires to enter into a multi-year <br /> lease agreement that is anticipated to commence on July 1, 2022, for four (4)years and eleven(11) <br /> months with Landlord; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Environmental Management is requesting authorization for the <br /> Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement with Landlord for office space; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that pursuant <br /> to section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a four(4) <br /> year and eleven(11)month lease agreement for the Department of Environmental Management Kona <br /> office as indicated above. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to <br /> cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the Lease. <br />
