REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE, WATER, ENERGY,AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT DATE: May 31, 2022 Re: Comm. No. 807 PLACE: Council Chambers Hilo, Hawai`i TIME: 10:10 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 Your Committee on Regenerative Agriculture, Water, Energy, and Environmental Management, to which was referred Communication No. 807, reports as follows: Communication No. 807,transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated May 11, 2022, submitting for the Council's review and confirmation the appointment of Austin Griffey to the Game Management Advisory Commission pursuant to Section 6-9.3 of the Hawai`i County Charter. A motion to move Communication No. 807 to full Council with a positive recommendation was made by Council Member Susan Lee Loy; seconded by Council Member Ashley Kierkiewicz. Pomaika`i Bartolome, Executive Assistant to Mayor Roth, introduced nominee Austin Griffey to Your Committee noting that he is a lifelong Hawaii resident, a graduate of Konawaena High School, self-employed by Griffey Construction, Inc., and a member of the Hawai`i Game Management 2022. If approved, nominee Griffey would serve a term ending December 31, 2022. Nominee Griffey introduced himself to Your Committee, stating he is a local boy raised in South Kona and a lifelong hunter who wants to ensure hunting and gathering for future generations.
