Making an adjustment here can save considerably. <br /> One suggestion is to have each council pay the NACo dues directly versus through <br /> HSAC. <br /> CM King: Discussion on how much have we saved this past year in comparison to <br /> 2019 in terms of actual money spent on travel <br /> EA: NACo dues are paid for from HSAC revenue. These are calculated based off a <br /> formula of 0.02 c per person according to census data). If this cost was directly paid <br /> for by each county then HSAC would save $27K in expenses. <br /> Other options: revenue generating, increase in HSAC dues, counties to pay the NACo <br /> dues directly, conference income can be increased, we can decrease the travel budgets. <br /> CM King: Didn't all councils approve the $15K HSAC dues? <br /> EA: CM King has spoken with each EC member and has their approval on <br /> increasing dues to $15K. <br /> In the past HNL has donated $40K additional to the budget which has allowed us to <br /> balance out in the past. <br />
