Going to ask
separate ones from the ones that will be asked for Kauai.
CM Kimball: If everyone can think about the big fish statewide and then bring those
back and then save the local companies for when you are hosting on your island.
CM King.- We can personalize the outreach.
CM Waters: We should also count on our colleagues on the council to help with this.
We need to come up with $174K.
CMKing:Maybe we need to build the reserve back up.
CM Waters:Are you suggesting we need to deplete our reserve?
CM King: We might have to, have seen $60K come in from conferences in the past. We
could come up with 5-6 names of big companies we can ask, send a letter, and do a
follow up call.
CM Chock: If we increase the revenue options, have counties pay the NACo dues only.
Then we can raise about $100K, so it is likely we will need to do all of these options.
CMKing: Suggest also adjusting the lobbying and contract hours and work.
CM Chock: We do need boots on the ground for lobbying support, so that is important
to consider. We should revise it and look at it.
EA: Supportive of the need to have boots on the ground to support lobbying. Also
available to increase the role and responsibility to do more legislative reporting and
tracking going forward.
CM Waters: Looking at the travel can also be considered to cut expenses.
EA: Shared in the chat different levels of the sponsorship and CM.Kimball shared
they have already raised $35K in sponsorships.
CM Kimball: We have also raised the grant funding as well.
