Perform outreach to increase community stewardship actions through the installation of
interpretive signs, continuation of the involvement of local students in identifying and
prioritizing stewardship actions, and development of a PSR to guide people's actions when
visiting Pao'o (the PSA is specifically excluded from grant funding).
3. Wildfire mitigation through kiawe tree pruning, weed-whacking grasses and groundcovers,
and removing wood fuel from site.
Review of NKCRC's objectives, as presented in its business plan, project description and budget details
informed the following assessments:
1. Objective#3 appears to qualify under criterion (5).
Given the above, it is our recommendation that North Kohala Community Resource Center will be able to
complete its entire proposed project in accordance with its project description and in strict adherence to
the conditions governing the POMC Maintenance Fund.
(This space intentionally left blank—continued on next Pagel
County of Hawaii is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer.
