.O;MSYoiN.. • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •� '''�-%��:tSTATE OF HAWAII <br /> SITE OF•MI•�_. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 445 22 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO NEGOTIATE A <br /> TWO-YEAR LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY,WEST HAWAII HOMELESS CAMPUS, <br /> SITUATED AT DISTRICT OF NORTH KONA, COUNTY AND STATE OF HAWAII, <br /> AND IDENTIFIED AS A PORTION OF TAX MAP KEYS: (3) 7-4-010:044 AND (3) 7-4- <br /> 010:020,TO HOPE SERVICES HAWAII, INC <br /> WHEREAS,the County of Hawai`i owns the property located at 74-5593 Pawai Place, <br /> Kailua-Kona, County and State of Hawai`i, known as the West Hawai`i Homeless Campus, <br /> identified as Tax Map Keys (3) 7-4-010:044 and (3) 7-4-010:020 for the purpose of providing <br /> services to homeless individuals; and <br /> WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc., a non-profit organization, desires to <br /> negotiate a two (2)year lease for the period March 3, 2022 through March 2, 2024, with two (2) <br /> eighteen(18)month terms,to be used as an Assessment Center and Emergency Shelter for single <br /> individuals who are experiencing homelessness; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Hawai`i County Code Article 19, Section 2-120(a)(2), the <br /> Hawai`i County Council may, by resolution approved by a majority of members, direct the <br /> Finance Director to negotiate the disposition of real property by leasing it to a non-profit <br /> organization, at such rentals and on such terms and conditions as deemed proper; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii County Code Article 19, section 2-120(b)provides such lease of <br /> real property to a non-profit organization may be made without notice or appraisal; now <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that <br /> pursuant to Hawai`i County Code Chapter 2, Article 9, Section 2-120(a)(2), the Director of <br /> Finance is hereby authorized to negotiate a multi-year lease (with renewal options for additional <br /> terms) with HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc., a non-profit organization, without notice or appraisal, <br /> located at 74-5593 Pawai Place, Kailua-Kona, County and State of Hawai`i, known as the West <br /> Hawai`i Homeless Campus, identified as Tax Map Keys (3) 7-4-010:044 and(3) 7-4-010:020. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the County of Hawai`i is hereby <br /> authorized to execute said lease on behalf of the County of Hawai`i following its approval by the <br /> Council as noted herein. <br />
