Please accept the following <br /> submission: <br /> I <br /> 3 <br /> 3 <br /> Organization: Pohaha I Ka Lani ("PIKL") <br /> PONC Land: (3)4-8-004:106 [Waipi°o Valley Lookout] Acquired 2007 <br /> Amount Requested: $92,300 (Total Project Cost: $114,900) <br /> 1. Installation of a 1,000 gallon water tank for handwashing and irrigation uses, a 20' long <br /> shipping container for secure storage, and a system of solar panels, batteries and lighting for <br /> t <br /> the water tank and container. <br /> 2. Hosting of monthly"Malama 'Rina"days throughout the year to engage the public into <br /> developing active stewardship relationships to the site. <br /> 3. Hosting of cultural, community, and educational groups at the site to learn about Waipi'o <br /> Valley and the surrounding areas. <br /> 4. Hosting of cultural educational workshops to enhance the public consciousness about the <br /> significance of stewardship of significant places/lands. <br /> 5. Facilitate the public's safe and responsible use of the site. <br /> 6. Maintenance of the property, to include landscaping, native gardening, repairs to <br /> fences/gates, etc. <br /> Review of PIKL's objectives, as presented in its proposal, project description and budget details informed <br /> the following assessments: <br /> 1. Only the storage container portion of Objective#1 appears to qualify under criterion (11). <br /> Construction of a permanent storage structure, water tank, and the associated plumbing and <br /> -Comm.
