IV OF h4 COUNTY OF HAWAII •� �' / • STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 452 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BIG ISLAND RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL FOR THE 36TH ANNUAL BIG ISLAND PRO-AM SURFING TRIALS. WHEREAS, the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council (BIRCDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the economic, cultural, and natural environment of Hawai`i Island through the sponsorship of festivals,programs, and special events unique to this island; and WHEREAS, BIRCDC is working in partnership with the Big Island Pro-Am Surfing Trials Committee to promote, produce, and coordinate the 36th Annual Big Island Pro-Am Surfing Trials to be held in Hilo starting in August 2022; and WHEREAS, BIRCDC is requesting funds to cover necessary expenses relating to the competition, including, but not limited to, special-duty police officers,tents, trophies, lei, and event supplies; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports this event as it is in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to promote safe,healthy, and drug- and alcohol- free community activities; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council for the 36th Annual Big Island Pro-Am Surfing Trials. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
