Leopoldino, Director of Human Resources <br /> D 'E: June 29,2022 <br /> SUWE0 Resolution to Amend Salary Ordinance No. 22-51 <br /> Please find the attached resolution amending the Salary Ordinance No.22-51, <br /> which amends Sections 7.01(a), 7.02(b), 7.03, 7.04, 7.05, 7.06, and 7.07 to reflect <br /> the State of Hawaii Wage and Hour Law mandated minimum wage increase <br /> from $10.10 per hour to $12.00 per hour effective October 1, 2022. <br /> There are several positions identified under the Salary Ordinance 22-51 that will <br /> be affected by this change. As such, we are required by law to raise the pay of <br /> positions paid at the minimum wage level to meet the new rate of$12.00 per <br /> hour effective October 1, 2022 <br /> I <br /> Furthermore, as the affected positions are primarily the Student Helper I,we are <br /> recommending increasing the pay for the Student Helper 11 level,which has <br /> historically been $.50 higher than the Student Helper I. <br /> Due to the pressing need to implement the mandated changes by October 1, <br /> 2022, we are requesting that this amendment be waived from the Committee on j <br /> Finance and placed on the full Council agenda at the earliest possible time. <br /> Please see proposed amendments to Ordinance No. 22-51 below in bold: <br /> I <br /> Item Title Pay Grade <br /> SECTION 7.01(a) OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLEC <br /> 7 Student Intern 5812.00 hrly <br /> I <br /> SECTION 7.02(b) OFFICE OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. <br /> OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT. <br /> 30 Student Helper I $404-4 12.00 hrly <br /> i <br /> i <br /> I <br /> Haivai"i County is an Equaf Opportunity Provider and Employer. <br /> I <br />
