....... tdy <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAIII STATE OF HAWAIII <br /> SOLUTION NO. 466 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO IKAIKAMAULOA <br /> YOUTH FOUNDATION INC. TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS KONA <br /> GOLD BOXING CLUB. <br /> WHEREAS, Ikaikamauloa Youth Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> that strives to provide youth with opportunities for engagement that focus on resilience, <br /> empowerment, and health and wellness education at its Kona Gold Boxing Club in Kailua-Kona; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the Kona Gold Boxing Club is a youth and community center serving West <br /> Hawaii that provides a safe space for personal fitness and sports such as boxing,jiu jitsu, and <br /> weight-lifting, as well as academic support and creative-study activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ikaikamauloa Youth Foundation Inc. is requesting funds to pay for boxing <br /> equipment such as shoes, headgear, gloves, protective gear, speed and reflex bags, supplies, and <br /> other miscellaneous expenses for the Kona Gold Boxing Club; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public <br /> and youth programs that promote educational activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environment, <br /> such as the Kona Gold Boxing Club; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Ikaikamauloa Youth Foundation Inc. for expenses related to <br /> its Kona Gold Boxing Club. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
