REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: July 19, 2022 Re: Comm.No. 853/Res.No. 446-22 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:03 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo,Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 446-22,reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 446-22,transmitted by Council Member Holeka Goro Inaba via <br /> Communication No. 853 dated June 20, 2022, awards a Public Access, Open Space, and Natural <br /> Resources Preservation Maintenance Fund stewardship grant to Kohanaiki `Ohana. <br /> This resolution approves a grant of$24,880 to Kohanaiki `Ohana, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, <br /> to protect,preserve, and restore the `O`oma Beach property in North Kona, pursuant to <br /> Section 10-16(h) of the Hawai`i County Charter. <br /> Mr. Inaba provided background on the resolution and asked for the other members' support. <br /> Committee Member Maile Medeiros David thanked former council member Karen Eoff and the <br /> Kohanaiki `Ohana for their work on the measure. <br /> Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder and Committee Member Rebecca Villegas both <br /> provided comments in support of the measure. <br /> Pursuant to Section 10-16(h), an award of a Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources <br /> Preservation Maintenance Fund stewardship grant shall be by Council resolution. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 446-22, and <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> arc <br /> AYES NOES ABS EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> CHUNG X <br /> DAVID x COMMITTEE ON FINA'.
