COUNTY OF G STATE OF G <br /> tpQ:4 y--wuw:'e� <br /> �rEOF'Ng,� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING E TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANTT THE LIONS CLUB OF <br /> KNACOMMUNITY F UN ATI N INC., FOR ITS 25th ANNIVERSARY <br /> CELEBRATION ATT E HAROLD H. HIGASHIHARA PARK. <br /> WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation Inc., (LCKCFI) is a <br /> 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop and provide community service <br /> projects and activities that meet the needs of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, LCKCFI is partnering with the Friends of Higashihara Park to coordinate <br /> its 25th Anniversary Celebration of Kamakana Playground on September 24, 2022; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 25"' Anniversary Celebration is free, open to the public, and will <br /> include a full day of fun, with a poster contest, games, activities for the entire family, <br /> entertainment, food trucks, and informational boards about the history of Kamakana Playground; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, LCKCFI is requesting to funds to assist with food, drinks, entertainment, <br /> equipment, supplies and other miscellaneous expenses associated with the celebration; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide <br /> events and activities that celebrate and commemorate our culture, heritage, and diverse <br /> communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation Inc., for <br /> its 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Harold H. Higashihara Park. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
