JN�vFoF°k'!ay <br /> COUNTY OF G +; ;rSTATE OF G <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 490 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R. <br /> SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE TWO WATER SAFETY <br /> CRAFTS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S <br /> OCEAN SAFETY DIVISION. <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization committed to providing essential equipment and supplies as identified by the <br /> Hawaii Fire Department, to help save lives; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Hawaii Fire Department's mission is to provide exceptional, all- <br /> hazards emergency services to the residents of, and visitors to, Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Hawaii Fire Department has identified an immediate need for water <br /> safety crafts,trailers, and related equipment,which are vital to rescue operations conducted by <br /> its Ocean Safety Division; and <br /> WHEREAS, while the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation has raised $25,000 in <br /> donations thus far to acquire this much needed equipment, the Foundation is facing a shortfall <br /> and has requested funding assistance to supplement those donations in order to complete the <br /> purchase of two water safety crafts,trailers,tow boards, and related equipment for the Hawaii <br /> Fire Department's Ocean Safety Division; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire <br /> Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to assist in the <br /> purchase of two water safety crafts, trailers, tow boards, and related equipment for the Hawaii <br /> Fire Department's Ocean Safety Division. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
