REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: August 2, 2022 Re: Comm.No. 882 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 2:00 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 882,reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 882,transmitted by the Honorable Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated July 13, 2022, <br /> nominates Joyce M. Unoki to the Pension Board. <br /> Executive Assistant to the Mayor Pomaika`i Bartolome introduced the nominee. Ms. Bartolome stated <br /> that Ms. Unoki has been a Hawaii resident for 62 years,holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social <br /> Science, and retired from the County of Hawaii after 30 years of service. If confirmed, Ms. Unoki will <br /> serve a term ending December 31, 2026. Ms. Unoki also briefly introduced herself to the Committee <br /> members. <br /> Committee Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder thanked Ms. Unoki for being present at the meeting and the <br /> administration for putting forth her nomination. <br /> Pursuant to Section 6-6.4, Hawai`i County Charter,there shall be a pension board who shall be <br /> appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 882, and <br /> recommends the confirmation of the appointment of Joyce M.
