COUNTY OF C ;a• �* STATE OF C <br /> +ASV�wori:•*� <br /> qtt OF•NA� . <br /> RESOLUTION . 498 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TOT E DANIEL R. <br /> SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE TWO WATER SAFETY <br /> CRAFTS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S <br /> OCEAN SAFETY DIVISION. <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to provide fire, emergency, rescue equipment and supplies, or <br /> funding to purchase fire, emergency, rescue equipment and supplies, to the Hawaii County Fire <br /> Department; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Hawaii Fire Department has identified the need for water safety crafts, <br /> tow boards and related equipment for its Ocean Safety Division, which will improve <br /> departmental readiness during emergency and hazard responses; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to purchase <br /> two water safety crafts, tow boards and related equipment for the Hawaii Fire Department's <br /> Ocean Safety Division; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department mission is to provide exceptional, all hazards <br /> emergency services to the residents and visitors of the Hawaii Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire <br /> Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase two <br /> water safety crafts and related equipment for the Hawaii Fire Department's Ocean Safety <br /> Division. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
