While the site does have some archaeological sites. none were <br /> required to be preserved. They were primarily agricultural features. <br /> Land disturbance activities will he performed in accordance with an • <br /> approve Monitoring Plan. Work will cease if unanticipated <br /> archaeological remains are discovered during the construction <br /> phase. Work will resume only after proper clearances from the <br /> State and/or County have been received. <br /> • Being partially disturbed and within an urban environment, the <br /> prospects of the site serving as a habitat for rare or endangered <br /> plant or animal life appear remote.- <br /> As this is a residential project, it will directly fulfill the objectives of <br /> the housing element. Specifically, these include goals, among <br /> others, which <br /> • Attain a diversity of socio-economic housing mix throughout the <br /> different parts of the County <br /> o Maintain a housing supply which allows a variety of choice <br /> o Improve and maintain the quality and affordability of the existing <br /> housing stock <br /> e Seek sufficient production of affordable rental and fee-simple <br /> housing in the County in a variety of sizes to satisfactorily <br /> accommodate the needs and desires of families and individuals <br /> The Plan also emphasizes that developments be mindful of an <br /> area's natural beauty. In this situation, the project will be <br /> developed in a manner where it blends with the existing terrain and <br /> enhances the natural environment through the introduction of <br /> landscaping. <br /> Although the project site is located over a mile from the ocean, it is <br /> also separated by other developments from the ocean. As such, <br /> some of the usual coastal resources concern would not be <br /> pronounced. There will be no interference with shoreline access. <br /> Then, too, individual wastewater system meeting with the approval <br /> of the State Department of Health will be constructed during the <br /> building permit phcas of this project. Thus, impacts to the coastal <br /> water should be minimized. <br /> There will be little impact to public facilities. The roadway, water, <br /> and related system within the project site will be developed by the <br /> applicant.
