The subject property is located on <br /> the south side of Hualalai Road, approximately 0.6 miles east of its intersection with Queen <br /> Ka`ahumanu Highway, Wai`aha 1st, Puapua'anui 1st,North Kona, Hawai`i. <br /> The Commission voted to forward a favorable recommendation to the County Council based on <br /> the Deputy Planning Director's recommendation, including revised Conditions G, H, and I <br /> clarifying required road construction and improvements, and with the Commission's revision <br /> removing Conditions R through W and replacing with a more general condition addressing listed <br /> or endangered species. <br /> The Commission concurs with the following Deputy Planning Director's reasons for favorable <br /> consideration of the request: <br /> The applicant is requesting to change the zoning district from Agricultural-5 acres <br /> (A-5a) to a Family Agricultural-1 acre (FA-la) zoning district for an approximately <br /> 14.968-acre parcel of land. According to the Zoning Code, the Family Agricultural <br /> district provides for a blend of small-scale agricultural operations associated with <br /> residential activities and which may be characterized by farm estates, small acreage <br /> farms, or subsistence lots. <br /> Hawaii County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer <br />
