I <br /> i <br /> { <br /> PT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE <br /> O PUBLIC YomAND MASS <br /> TRANSIT T f <br /> f3� <br /> i <br /> DATE: August 16, 2022 Re: Comm.No.899/Res.No. 478-22 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kana, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:06 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> i <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Mass Transit, to which was referred Resolution No. 478-22,reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Resolution No. 478-22, introduced by Council Member Holeka Goro Inaba,via Communication No. 899 <br /> dated July 20, 2022, authorizes the temporary closure of the southern roadway stub-out of Ka`eka Street <br /> in the District of North Kona, County and State of Hawaii. <br /> Committee Member Inaba explained the temporary closure would reduce loitering, littering, <br /> consumption of alcohol, and other illegal activities in this area until such time as the Council, by <br /> resolution, authorizes its reopening. <br /> Public Works Director Stephen Pause supports this resolution and has staff available to provide the <br /> necessary equipment.
