\\lIh <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •,*E �4t•,,ft_* STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 1'� OF•N <br /> 4 .'•1+-. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 524 22 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL <br /> YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR <br /> AGREEMENT WITH SPECIAL COUNSEL FOR LEGAL AND PROFESSIONAL <br /> SERVICES COVERING WORKERS' COMPENSATION MATTERS. <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 10-11 of the Hawai`i County Charter("Charter") requires <br /> that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of <br /> a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 6-5.5 of the Charter, the Office of the Corporation <br /> Counsel ("Corporation Counsel") wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement with Leong <br /> Kunihiro Brooke& Kim, which Leong Kunihiro Brooke & Kim will provide legal professional <br /> services for all of the Corporation Counsel's workers' compensation matters; and <br /> WHEREAS,Leong Kunihiro Brooke & Kim was duly selected in compliance with the <br /> procurement of professional services under Chapter 103D-304, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, as <br /> amended; and <br /> WHEREAS,the agreement is anticipated for a period of three (3)years, commencing on <br /> or about October 1, 2022; now therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that: <br /> 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a three (3)year agreement with <br /> Leong Kunihiro Brooke &Kim for the legal professional services as described <br /> above. <br /> 2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated <br /> obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement. <br />
