RESOLUTION NO. 527 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R. SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S OCEAN SAFETY DIVISION. WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide fire, emergency, and rescue equipment and supplies to the Hawai`i Fire Department; and WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department has identified the need for water safety crafts, tow boards, and related equipment for its Ocean Safety Division, which will improve departmental readiness during emergency and hazard responses; and I WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to purchase two water safety crafts,two tow boards, and related equipment for the Hawaii Fire Department's Ocean Safety Division; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Hawai`i Fire Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase equipment for the Hawai`i Fire Department's Ocean Safety Division. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
