Do you swear or affirm to tell the truth on the <br /> matter before the Planning Commission? <br /> PIPAN: Ido. <br /> VITOUSEK: Thank you. <br /> PIPAN: My name is John Pipan, Land Planning Hawaii, representing Mr. Chen, Dr. <br /> Chen, apologies. I live in Honoka`a. <br /> CHEN: Okay, I'm Siting Chen. I go by Steve. So, to introduce me a little bit, I'm very <br /> new to this process so, I appreciate your participation in this. Any—a little bit about <br /> myself as a landowner of this, so the idea that I wanted this comes from that me and my <br /> family wanted to relocate to Hawai`i. From Hawai`i we have two kids, and we've been <br /> coming to Hawai`i for almost 20 years. We come here all the time and one of the thinking <br /> was to come here to retire someday. Well, three years ago, on this facility on Oahu and <br /> the Kaiser facility that wanted some help, so it got me here to help them. Initially it was <br /> temporary, but I began to like it and actually got a chance to live on different islands. I <br /> helped them on O`ahu and I helped them Maui, and I helped them here. And I also got <br /> the chance to work on Kaua`i for a few months. So, I got the chance to live on different <br /> islands and we decided we really like this area, so we decided to stay here. So, we've <br /> been on Hawaii for about three years now. My idea is to be able to retire here and live in <br /> the paradise. One of the most attraction is I want to stay healthy. I want to stay away from <br /> doctors, okay. So, that idea to stay healthy is to eat healthy diet. Healthy organic fruits <br /> and vegetables is one of the most important things you can do, to me. Okay. Some of my <br /> idea is to be able to have a place that I plant all of the fruit trees I want, grow vegetables <br /> and everything, and share with the community. So, that's my idea and that's why I get <br /> into this. And I hope to, and to one earlier testifier mention that there's a difficulty getting <br /> doctors and appointments many months away. Well, guess what, there's a reason that it's <br /> very hard on doctors to come here. It is difficult to find lot [indecipherable]. But guess <br /> what, I've at least two doctor friends that are willing to come here if they can find the right place. <br /> 9 <br /> EXHIBIT F <br />
