JM.gYaOs.�,gy COUNTY OF HAWAIGISTATE OF HAWAI'l qty CF•Nt,� RESOLUTION NO. 532; 22 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO VIBRANT HAWAII FOR ITS MAKAHIKI EVENT IN NA`ALEHU. WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that brings community-based organizations, government, foundations, and businesses together to build awareness and implement strategies that are developed and resourced by the community; and WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is hosting its Makahiki event in Na`alehu on December 3, 2022, which will include health and well-being demonstrations, emergency preparedness demonstrations and resources, award ceremonies, performances, and art exhibits; and WHEREAS, Vibrant Hawaii is requesting funds to assist with supplies, materials, awards, emergency prep kits, and other costs directly related to its Makahiki event in Na`alehu; and WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community through alcohol-, tobacco-, and drug- free activities; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Vibrant Hawaii for its Makahiki event in Na`alehu. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
