s <br /> F HAWANSTATE OF HAWAPI <br /> 'I <br /> SOLUTION NO. 541 22 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF APPROXIMATELY11 TO THE COUNTY OF <br /> HA AVI POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, IRONMAN is donating approximately $110,000 to the Hawaii <br /> County Police Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used to cover overtime costs associated with <br /> staffing police officers at traffic points along the 2022 IRONMAN World <br /> Championship triathlon route in Kailua-Kona; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br /> any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br /> Resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that <br /> substantial cash donations be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution <br /> process; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the <br /> acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter <br />
