(Electronic Media—OPTION 1.) <br /> Please see below a proposed amendment to Bill No. 195, Draft 3. The proposed amendment is <br /> illustrated in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 195, Draft 3, (material to <br /> be deleted is bracketed and stricken, and new material is underscored). <br /> SECTION 3 of Bill No. 195, Draft 3, is amended by amending subsection 7-1-6(d)to read as <br /> follows: <br /> "(d) The mayor may exercise the following additional powers in an emergency period: <br /> (1) Suspend any County law that impedes or tends to impede or be detrimental to <br /> the expeditious and efficient execution of, or to conflict with, emergency <br /> functions; <br /> (2) Shut off water mains, gas mains, electrical power connections, or suspend other <br /> services; <br /> (3) To the extent permitted by or under Federal law, [suspend] authorize any <br /> actions necessary to preserve the ability to provide electronic media <br /> transmission; and <br /> (4) Direct and control the mandatory evacuation of the civilian population." <br /> Due to the limited scope of this amendment, a draft copy in its entirety of the new draft of the <br /> bill that would result if this proposed amendment is adopted, is not included. <br /> Mahalo. <br /> AKJjs <br /> Comm.
