tY�t�"�F 'tib <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAFI STATE OF HAWAF1 <br /> ,rF•OF•Nt•� <br /> RESOLUTIONNO. -548 22 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATEDFUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TAWA ` KEIKI <br /> MUSEUM TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES TOCONSTRUCT "T E POWER F <br /> WATER" SCIENCE EXHIBIT IN KONA. <br /> WHEREAS,the Hawaii Keiki Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created for <br /> the purpose of starting a children's science discovery center in West Hawaii, and its mission is <br /> to inspire curiosity, creativity, and innovation in children by introducing them to science during <br /> their formative years; and <br /> WHEREAS, the "Hawai`i Keiki Museum" in West Hawaii was established to teach our <br /> keiki through science discovery that local challenges are global concerns, and that climate <br /> protection, ocean health research, astronomy studies, and earth science investigations are all <br /> currently being conducted on the Big Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Keiki Museum is requesting funds to assist with expenses for <br /> material, equipment, and related supplies to construct its science exhibit entitled"The Power of <br /> Water" at its museum in Kona; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support <br /> organizations and programs that promote the health, safety, and welfare of the public in a drug- <br /> and alcohol-free environment, such as the Hawaii Keiki Museum's science exhibit in Kona; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawaii Keiki Museum to assist with expenses to <br /> construct"The Power of Water" science exhibit in Kona. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
