V OF`9!r COUNTY OF HAWAII *ea o� STATE OF HAWAI'l a rr F ppN► RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION U AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TTHE LIONSCLUB OF NA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION INC. TO ASSIST THE KONAWAENA HIGH SCHOOL LEO CLUB WITH ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation Inc. (LCKCFI) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop and provide community service projects and activities that meet the needs of the community; and WHEREAS, the Konawacna High School Leo Club is the youth branch of LCKCFI and has been partnering with the Kona Soil and Water Conservation District to inform the community on the fragility of our Kona landscape and what the public must do to protect our land for future generations; and WHEREAS, the LCKCFI is requesting funds to assist the Konawaena High School Leo Club with expenses for radio and social media advertisements to address land degradation and soil depletion in West Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development strives to increase communication, interaction, and understanding between residents and the agricultural industry to ensure the integrity of Hawai`i's unique sense of place; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation Inc. to assist the Konawaena High School Leo Club with its community outreach project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below;
