<br /> RESOLUTION NO.
<br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
<br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
<br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE AMAKUA
<br /> HEALTH CENTER, INC., FOR THE HONOKA`A TEEN HALLOWEEN DANCE.
<br /> WHEREAS, Hamakua Health Center, Inc., is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that
<br /> serves the Big Island of Hawaii by providing accessible, affordable, quality health care, and
<br /> educational services with an emphasis on individual and community wellness; and
<br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Health Center, Inc., with the help of the Department of Parks and
<br /> Recreation, is coordinating the Honoka`a Teen Halloween Dance, which will take place on
<br /> October 21, 2022, at the Honoka`a Gym; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the Honoka`a Teen Halloween Dance will be a safe, fun, alcohol- and drug-
<br /> free event that will include games, a Dance Contest, a Costume Contest, healthy snacks, and a
<br /> Disc Jockey; and
<br /> WHEREAS, Hamakua Health Center is requesting funds to help with expenses for
<br /> games, prizes, refreshments, decorations, supplies, and entertainment; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports developing partnerships
<br /> with other recreation providers as well as community organizations to maximize services and
<br /> activities for the public as well as providing educational and leisure activities to share, preserve,
<br /> perpetuate, and foster the appreciation of our rich multi-cultural heritage in the arts, history, and
<br /> humanities; and
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
<br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
<br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
<br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
<br /> therefore,
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
<br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of
<br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hamakua Health Center, Inc., for the Honoka`a Teen
<br /> Halloween Dance.
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
<br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below;
