i <br /> s <br /> ��tYa®S?tg� yiyi <br /> t}oi�Nw MOM iP� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI STATE OF HAWAIII <br /> ATE Qp.NP.)8 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. `7 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO SELF DISCOVERY <br /> THROUGH ART FOR ITS "RECOVERY, RESILIENCE, RECREATION ONLINE <br /> FACILITATOR TRAINING FROG M." <br /> WHEREAS, Self Discovery Through Art is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose <br /> mission is to nurture and strengthen the mental health of all people using "arts as medicine"; and <br /> WHEREAS, Self Discovery Through Art provides a structured art experience in creative <br /> problem solving by moving away from an overreliance on verbal expression to focusing on <br /> symbolic and non-verbal expressions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the "Recovery, Resilience, ReCreation Online Facilitator Training <br /> Program" is designed to increase the organization's capacity by administering online training <br /> programs and learning management systems so that developed art curriculum can be accessed by <br /> more individuals who are interested in facilitating art therapy to promote mental health; and <br /> WHEREAS, Self Discovery Through Art is requesting funds to hire a resource <br /> administrator to digitize art-therapy curriculum and create a website for online training <br /> programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, this project falls within the Department of Research and Development's <br /> mission to support the development of a local economy that is diverse, stable, and in balance <br /> with Hawai`i's ecology, community character, and cultural heritage; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to Self Discovery Through Art for its "Recovery, <br /> Resilience, ReCreation Online Facilitator Training Program." <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
