COUNTY OF HA AIsI STATE OF HAWAII •'ae- vl ATF OF H'� RESOLUTION 588 2 RESOLUTION T N FE NG/APP ING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDEA GRANTT E FOOD BASKET, INC., TO PURCHASE FOOD FOR ITS KONA WAREHOUSE AT NA KAHUri HALE ULU INI• WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to feed the hungry in Hawaii County by preventing the waste of food, educating the community about hunger, and collaborating with organizations to eradicate hunger and poverty; and WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., has requested funds to purchase food for its Kona Warehouse at Na Kahud Hale O Uluwini, which is a Hawaii County housing project; and WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development supports the development of viable communities in Hawaii County by providing decent housing, suitable living environments, and expanding economic opportunities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAItI that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of Housing and Community Development to provide a grant to The Food Basket, Inc., to purchase food for its Kona Warehouse at Na Kahud Hale O Ulu Wini. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below.
