o�tY Of k!y <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> t1.4 wa wo';•r�� <br /> RESOLUTIONNO. <br /> . <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATINGAN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANTT ARTS AND SCIENCE <br /> CENTER FOR EXPENSES FOR THE NANAWALE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT <br /> EVENT. <br /> WHEREAS, Arts and Science Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports <br /> community development, greater access to education, and improving the quality of life through <br /> learning with aloha; and <br /> WHEREAS, communities have been slowly reconnecting and congregating after <br /> COVID health and safety guidelines limited community events and gatherings for the last two <br /> and a half years; and <br /> WHEREAS, Arts and Science Center along with the Ndndwale community is hosting a <br /> community engagement event on November 12, 2022, at the Ndndwale Community Center <br /> intended to increase connections, promote social resources, and enhance resilience within and <br /> between neighborhoods in Puna; and <br /> WHEREAS, Arts and Science Center is the fiscal sponsor for the November event and <br /> will procure the necessary equipment, materials, and services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Arts and Science Center is requesting funds for food, musicians, <br /> decorations, sanitation supplies, and materials for the community engagement event; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support alcohol- <br /> free and drug-free community events; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Arts and Science Center to assist with expenses for the <br /> Ndndwale community engagement event. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
